We recently moved our AED (Automated External Defibrillator) and combined it with our First Aid supplies so that everything you might need can be found in the same place. The new location is to the right of the main floor canteen and is highly visible from anywhere on the main floor or ice shed areas.
We have added plenty of colourful signage along with a few informational posters on heart attacks, stroke and head injuries. We replaced our original AED (2008) in late February 2024 with a brand new 2024 model called the HeartSine 500P.
All AED's are designed to be used by bystanders who may have little or no CPR experience. The main features on all AED's include:
It should also be noted that none of the AED's manufactured after 2010 prompt for "rescue breaths". Most bystanders are not trained in mouth-to-mouth resuscitation. Even without the rescue breaths, hard and fast chest compressions are what is going to keep the blood flowing to the brain and other vital organs.
Our HeartSine 500P AED has an additional feature that not only provides feedback on the rate of compressions but the DEPTH of compression. To watch a short video on the HeartSine 500P, CLICK HERE.
When you open the AED cabinet door, a local alarm will sound; simply close the door and the alarm will stop.
Everything that you will need for a medical emergency is attached to the AED and you DO NOT need to remove the AED from its yellow and blue case to use it. The following items are included with the AED:

Saturday Learn to Curl (Beginners)
Time: 1 pm – 3 pm
Our Learn to Curl League combines 5 weeks of instruction by qualified instructors and 7 weeks of game play (with instructors present) throughout the curling season. This program is tailored to individuals that have not curled before. It's a great way for new curlers to learn the basics. Our program focuses on technique, rules, etiquette and of course, having fun!
Open to individuals 16 years of age and older. Brooms and sliders are available for use during the sessions. Just wear clean running shoes (that are clean from outside dirt) and warm, comfortable clothing so you can bend easily. We suggest layering so that you can adjust as necessary. Most curlers also wear gloves to keep their hands warm and to protect them when sweeping.
Not able to commit to the whole season? You also have the option to register for the instruction portion only.
Come to curl and stay to socialize with friends and family. Our Restaurant will be open for a bite to eat afterward as well as our Eight Ender Lounge.
If you are interested or have any other questions, please email [email protected] .

Triples Curling is an exciting new discipline that has been developed by Curling Canada. As its name suggests, curlers compete in teams of 3 when playing Triples. Each end consists of 6 shots per team, with each player throwing 2 shots per end, and each player rotating throwing positions after every other end. The league will be held on certain Saturday evenings at 6:30 pm.
