Youth Curling

    INTRODUCTION

    Our Youth Curling Program is a very active program focusing on introducing young people to curling as a recreational and social sport, developing the skills of young curlers and FUN!  Curling is a great way to meet people and make friends, while learning a sport you can play for a lifetime.

    ESPCC offers comprehensive programs emphasizing fun, skills development and learning and playing the game.  Our youth programs run on Sundays from October 4th, 2020 until March 21st, 2021, with a two week break during the Christmas school break.

    Due to the restrictions in place for COVID-19, each curler is only allowed to have one parent/guardian accompany them into the curling club each week during their league session.  Parents/Guardians are welcome to stay and watch their curler(s) curl and are expected to observe the curling club rules in place at the time. (See ESPCC Return To Play Guidelines)

    Where physical distancing cannot be maintained both on and off the ice, masks will be required to be worn.

     VOLUNTEERS REQUIRED!!

    LITTLE ROCKS & BANTAM:

    Little Rock and Bantam volunteers are required to make our curling program a success!  This year more than ever volunteers are crucial to the success of our curling programs.  Due to COVID-19, we are re-structuring our volunteer base in case a volunteer is ill or required to self-isolate during the season and cannot attend curling; we need to ensure there are enough dedicated volunteers that can step in to maintain the leagues each week.

    There are two types of volunteer options this season:

    1)  Volunteers that are able to commit a larger portion of the season to volunteering either on or off the ice

    We are looking for committed individuals to assist throughout the curling season to support the Youth Convener to help out off-ice with weekly league set-ups, planning, and coordinating. We are also looking for experienced curling volunteers able to assist with planning and leading the on-ice instructional/game portion of the leagues;

    2)  Volunteers that are able to commit to approx. 5 sessions per season to help out either on or off the ice

     Duties include providing assistance to the on-ice leader or providing off-ice support (i.e. registration desk).

     JUNIOR INTER-CLUB:

    We require junior Inter-Club volunteers with curling experience to help out as coaches during the season for our inter-club teams.   Ideally, we would like two volunteers per team to alternate games throughout the season.  Coaching guidance/direction will be provided at the beginning of the season.
