Youth Curling

     INTRODUCTION

    There is another great season of curling underway at ESPCC!! The Youth Curling program is a very active program focusing on introducing young people to curling as a recreational and social sport, developing the skills of young curlers and FUN!  Curling is a great way to meet people and make friends, while learning a sport you can play for a lifetime.

    We offer comprehensive programs emphasizing fun, skills development and learning and playing the game.  Our youth programs run from the beginning of October until mid March.


      LITTLE ROCKS   (Ages 7 - 10)   SUNDAYS   3:15 - 4:15 PM

    The emphasis is on fun while learning the fundamentals and etiquette of curling.  CurlManitoba instructors will be present throughout the season to provide instruction to develop our curlers skills and technique with game play being gradually introduced.

    Equipment Required: Curling broom, clean soled shoes, gripper, slip on slider (optional), comfortable loose fitting clothing, and a curling (or hockey) helmet is strongly recommended for curlers who are 12 years of age or under on December 31st, 2019.  


     BANTAM   (Ages 11 - 14)   SUNDAYS   1:00 - 3:00 PM

    Curlers will develop their skills, technique and strategy using a combination of drills and game play.  CurlManitoba instructors will be present throughout the season to assist curlers in their development.  The first six weeks of the season will focus on a combination of instruction and 4 ended games.  Curlers will then progress to a round robin tournament and play-offs to end the season.

    Equipment Required: Curling broom, clean soled shoes, gripper, slip on slider or proper curling shoes, comfortable loose fitting clothing, and a curling (or hockey) helmet is strongly recommended for curlers who are 12 years of age or under on December 31st, 2019.


    JUNIOR INTER-CLUB   (Ages 15 - 18)   SUNDAYS - Draw Times Vary

    The season will begin with each team participating in three weeks of clinics, one on one coaching with a CurlManitoba instructor.  These sessions are designed to prepare the teams for the curling season with the refinement of skills, technique and strategy using a combination of intensive drills and game play.  Teams will then participate in a round robin tournament each week with various junior curling teams throughout the city and surrounding area, with play-offs to end the season.

    Equipment Required: Curling broom, clean soled shoes, gripper, slip on slider or proper curling shoes, and comfortable loose fitting clothing is required.

    Club Information

    The East St. Paul Curling Club, located in East St. Paul, Manitoba, was founded in 1957 by a group of local citizens. Over the years the club has undergone many upgrades and today is a world class facility.
