I would like to welcome all new and returning curlers to CurlESP for the 2025/26 season. Just like last year it is always important to remind everyone of the importance of respect and fair play to all participants and visitors @ CurlESP.
Garth has made some changes to his team adding Grant and Blair to his ice crew, with Carl and Jordan returning in a supportive role. The ice crew has been hard at work installing the ice and we know it will continue to be the best ice in the province.
Your convenors are busy planning their league(s) for the upcoming season. If you are unable to ice a team for any of your draws, please respect your opponent and reach out to cancel your game.
We have been busy over the summer break making improvements to the club.
In the lounge, we have added TVs above each sheet to improve your viewing experience by getting a closer look at the scoring rings at both ends of the rink. A big thanks to Scott, Bill and Don for all the work they did. I am happy to welcome back Hannah, Hayley, Chewy, Sarah and Jenn at the bar and have added a couple new faces with the addition of Kyle and Alanna.
There are a lot of changes in the kitchen to share with you. We are pleased to welcome our new operator, YiaYia – Your Favorite Greek! Roula and her team will be there to serve you. We cannot wait to sample the new menu! Please check our website for her menu and hours of operation. We have also purchased a new pizza oven and range over the summer.
We would appreciate those curlers who do not have a locker rented for the season, to please use the cloak room to store your belongings during league play. The main floor is also the “dining room” and we want to ensure that guests coming to enjoy a meal have somewhere to sit and enjoy both their food and the competition on the ice.
We have a number of events planned during the 2025/26 season. We are hosting a Grey Cup party in November, the Viterra Regionals in December, the opening ceremonies of the Manitoba Open in January and the High School Provincials in February.
I am looking forward to another great season here at CurlESP and welcome all feedback you have on your experience.
