CurlESP Team Sponsorship - Updated Criteria & Process

Introduction:

In March 2026, the CurlESP Board of Directors passed a motion to increase the amount of sponsorship money from a maximum of $200/team to a maximum of $300/team. The Board also agreed to clarify the criteria and process and to post it on the CurlESP website.

Eligible Event Criteria:

Sponsorship support will be available to CurlESP member and affiliate teams who represented CurlESP and:

1. Competed at the Curling Club Regionals (currently known as the Manitoba Blue Cross Curling Club Provincials)
2. Competed in a CurlManitoba regional qualifier and earned a berth in the corresponding Provincial Championship.
3. Won a CurlManitoba Provincial Championship and advanced to the corresponding Curling Canada National Championship.
4. Won a Curling Canada National Championship and advanced to the corresponding World Championship.

Sponsorship Support Consists of:

1. Covering the registration fee for CurlESP teams who compete in the Curling Club Regionals (currently known as the Manitoba Blue Cross Curling Club Provincials)
2. A maximum of $300 for a CurlESP team who won a regional qualifier and earned a berth spot in the corresponding Provincial Championship.
3. A maximum of $300 for a CurlESP team who won a Provincial Championship and advanced to the corresponding Curling Canada National Championship.
4. A maximum of $300 for a CurlESP team who won a Curling Canada National Championship and advanced to the corresponding World Championship.
5. A maximum of $300 for a CurlESP team who won a World Championship.
6. Free use of the 8 Ender Lounge for a National Championship send-off party and/or the donation of a silent auction prize.

Financial Support Considerations:

Since a number of provincial events do not require all team members to be from the same club (i.e. CurlESP), the amount of funding will be determined based on:

1. The team being listed as representing the East St Paul Curling Club for the event in question, and
2. At least 50% of the team (i.e. 2 members of a 4-person team or 1 member of a 2-person team) must be either a CurlESP club member (who plays in at least one league as a fully paid-up member) or an affiliate member of CurlESP, and
3. Funding support will be prorated based on the number of CurlESP members involved, excluding extra players. 

Process for Receiving Sponsorship Support and Team Recognition:

1. The CurlESP Board will post the CurlESP Sponsorship Support Criteria and Support document on the home page of the Club’s website.
2. A CurlESP Sponsorship Request Form will also be posted on the home page.
3. CurlESP will notify all club and affiliate members of the process via News on The Button (NOTB).
4. The CurlESP team is responsible for initiating the Sponsorship request by completing the form and submitting it to the Board.
5. Promotion and recognition of CurlESP teams will be driven by the submission of the Sponsorship Request form. Posting on social media or in the NOTB will be at the discretion of the Board and in the case of the NOTB, subject to its normal publication cycle.

Paper copies of the completed request form can be handed in to our Club Manager (Robert Mol) who will then forward the form to our treasurer.
